Laura
Certified Tutor
As a multilingual educator, I am excited to tutor with Varsity Tutors! My passion for learning is backed by my Bachelor's degree in Political Science, an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, and fluency in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French.
I have gained much practical experience in education, including working as a Teacher Assistant and Tour Guide. These roles have helped me develop my teaching and communication skills to connect with students meaningfully. I don't just teach; I facilitate learning and am committed to making learning enjoyable and enriching.
One thing that makes me unique is that I have a lot of experience with different cultures, having studied in Spain, France, Colorado, and Texas. This has given me a deep appreciation for diversity, and I am committed to creating inclusive environments where every student can feel valued.
I am highly organized and have a talent for creative problem-solving, which helps me to create tutoring experiences that are both practical and engaging. I am also proficient in technology to enhance the learning process. In today's dynamic educational landscape, I understand the importance of incorporating modern tools to make lessons more interactive and impactful.
My top priority is to create an environment that fosters students' understanding of academic concepts and ignites a passion for learning. I am committed to contributing my expertise and enthusiasm to create a positive and empowering educational journey for all Varsity Tutors' students.

Undergraduate Degree: The University of Texas at Dallas - Bachelor of Science, Political Science and Government
I've always been passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community, which brings me much joy. In addition to that, I've also been a part of the tennis and basketball teams at my schools. I've been involved in some fantastic academic clubs, like being the President of the IB Minority Club in High School and being a part of the sociology club in college. I'm also a massive fan of learning new languages, and right now, I'm trying to learn Italian, which is so much fun! When I'm not studying or volunteering, you can usually find me reading a good book, watching a movie, or spending quality time with my loved ones. Oh, and I love being outdoors too!
