Certified Tutor

I am an alumnus of Loyola University Chicago where I received a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Bioethics. Additionally, I have a second bachelors in Human Health Sciences from American University of Antigua College of Medicine. Aside from my degrees, I am a licensed EMT where I provide advanced first aid and emergency services throughout various events in Illinois.
My education and experiences over the years have motivated me to pursue a career as a physician. Currently, I am a 3rd year medical student completing my clinical rotations.
I am most passionate about teaching concepts relating to medicine such as Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pathology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology. I recently passed the USMLE STEP 1 exam and I truly believe that I can provide students assistance while studying for this notorious exam.
My tutoring style focuses on identifying where the gaps are in students' learning. As a result, I alter my sessions to fit students specific needs and areas of difficulty. Specifically, in regards to USMLE STEP 1 tutoring, my goal is to help students contrast various pathologies and assist them with recognizing the clinical features in vignettes to get them to the correct answer choice.
I have a strong belief that medicine is a field that involves a "teach one, teach all" approach due to the vast amount of knowledge a person has both to learn and maintain to be a well rounded clinician. I enjoy assisting students with making adjustments to their study plan to ensure that they are "studying effectively!"
A fun fact about me is that I represent the small population on earth who are left handed.
