Stephen Fuss is a violinist, composer, and educator living in Boardman, Oregon. Their primary musical inspirations come from the Renaissance era, minimalism, and other tonal sound-worlds. In addition to composing, and performing, Stephen previously taught in elementary general music over the last four years, and has taught private music lessons for five years. Additionally they helped coach their first composition student to win a state award in 2024.
Stephen graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music composition and a Bachelors degree in music education from the University of Kansas in 2020, where they studied with Ingrid Stolzel and David Colwell for composition and violin respectively. As a music educator, Stephen believes that every student deserves to have a well-rounded education that includes music both in and outside of the classroom that fits their needs, age/grade-level, and interests. The study of music through cultural, theoretical, and applied lenses can help a student become a life long learner and build an appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.
