I believe knowledge is most powerful when it's shared, and education is at its best when it's dynamic, relatable, and sparks curiosity. As a physician with a background in pediatrics and psychiatry and a lifelong mentor and educator, I love bringing complex ideas to life in ways that captivate, engage, and empower students. Whether we're diving into how the body heals itself, breaking down real-world examples of medical ethics, or exploring the chemistry of oxygen and iron in the blood, I aim to create a learning experience that's exciting, impactful, and memorable.
With an MD from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, master's education in Healthcare Ethics & Health Policy, a background in applied biomedical sciences, and experience in performative theater, coupled with a deep passion for teaching, I've developed a unique approach that blends storytelling, humor, and practical applications. My live, online sessions aren't just lectures - they're interactive experiences. Students ask questions, think critically, and connect concepts to their lives and career goals.
Some of my favorite subjects to teach include anatomy and pathophysiology, biology, physics, medical ethics, and statistics - because they're not only fascinating but also unlock new ways to understand the world around us. I've had the privilege of working with students at all levels, from aspiring medical professionals to curious learners tackling foundational science. No matter where they are in their journey, I tailor every session to their needs, ensuring they feel supported, motivated, and ready to thrive.
My teaching philosophy is simple: curiosity leads to confidence, and confidence leads to mastery. I prioritize critical thinking over rote memorization to foster curiosity and lasting understanding, encouraging students to ask "why," make connections, and apply what they've learned to real-world scenarios. With the help of diagrams, flow charts, stories, and case studies, even the most challenging topics become approachable, engaging, and, dare I say, fun. My goal is to leave students not just with knowledge but with the tools to think critically, ask better questions, and apply their learning far beyond the classroom.
I'm passionate about bridging the gap between science and storytelling, finding creative ways to make health, science, and medical information accessible, and inspiring the next generation of learners. As a doctor and instructor, my mission is simple: to make education an unforgettable journey while shaping the thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners of tomorrow.
