I'm currently studying International Studies at the University of Washington, and I've always been the kind of person who gets way too excited helping someone finally understand a confusing concept. I love seeing people have those "wait, I get it now" moments. I have tutored English Literature, US Government, US and World History, Japanese, and AP-level test prep (especially Calc AB, English Lang/Lit, and Social Studies exams). These are subjects I not only did well in, but actually enjoyed, which makes teaching them feel really natural. I also love helping students build confidence in how they write and think, especially when it comes to making arguments or finding their voice in essays. My approach to tutoring is laid-back, but focused. I like to make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, and I try to explain things in a way that actually makes sense rather than just repeating textbook language.
