Education is not one-size-fits-all. Some students need a challenge to avoid boredom, and others could use plenty more repetition. Ensure that your student maintains an effective learning pace and avoids being left behind on critical skills. Here are three simple steps to help your child have a successful school year.

3 Steps to ensuring a successful school year

1. Find out what they know and what they should know

Since most schools use common core standards, with a little digging you can find out which skills your child should have learned in their last completed grade. However, we’ve done the digging for you. Here are the critical skills your child should know—broken down by grade.

2. Receive a personalized learning plan based on their needs

Once you have the list of the critical skills your child should know, you can figure out which skills they do know, and which skills they may have lost over the break. The easiest way to determine this is to have them take an adaptive assessment. Each assessment takes about 20 minutes.
