I'm Annelisa, originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I recently graduated from Yale University, where I studied art and its interactions with political journalism and science. I'm happy to tutor on a wide range of subjects, especially writing, college application, and the SAT!

I am a graduate of Stanford University. I received my BA in Philosophy, and continued with graduate studies at Brown University where I received my MA in philosophy and completed all my course requirements for a PhD in philosophy. After several adventurous decades including travel in Africa and Asia, building a house in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, running a business designing and selling jewelry, and building alternative straw bale buildings on my property in the White Mountains of Arizona, I started tutoring math at Northland Pioneer College in Snowflake and Show Low, AZ. The past two years I have been spending most of my time in the Phoenix area where I am tutoring math, ranging from arithmetic to algebra to trig and calculus, with my main love and main focus being on algebra. What I love about algebra is the detective work---figuring out what needs to be done to solve a problem instead of just attacking it with a calculator. My tutoring style is to adapt my explanations to the needs of my students---there are always several ways to do any given problem, and I ask questions to determine which way will work best for an individual student. In my spare time, I am an artist, in ceramics and fused glass; and I love reading, mainly non-fiction in the area of personal growth and development.
Hello! I'm Alexis Kelley! In Louisiana, I have begun volunteering with Baton Rouge Youth Coalition where I help senior students complete the college application process from finding fit to writing essays. Having just recently gone through this process and successfully navigating elite admissions like Columbia, Cornell, and Duke I feel equipped (and excited!) to share my advice. Whether this looks like help putting your story into words on the common application essay or determining the best colleges to apply to, I would love to be a part of this process. All through high school I was a math tutor ranging in topics from basic elementary math to AP Calculus! I really enjoy teaching math (especially algebra and calculus!!). I would also be more than happy to help with any standardized testing prep. I want to help students reach their maximum potential and achieve the target scores they're looking for! I am super eager to meet you and get started!
I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Arizona State University. I received my Master of Science in Accountancy from Notre Dame with a focus on Taxation. I received my Bachelor of
I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, with a BS in Biology and minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry. I am currently working on computer coding and enjoy tutoring students, specializing in test preparation for the ACT, SAT, and GRE.
I am passionate about running, traveling, and being outdoors. I believe that learning should be fun and that the process needs to be personal and innovative. I am always prepared, patient, and observant. I care about each individual and know that everyone has the capacity to understand and learn. It is my belief that we are lifelong learners and I am anxious to know how I can help. Thank you!
I'm fairly new to formal tutoring but I've been helping my five children with their homework for the last 18 years. I consider math and science my favorite subjects, with physics being one of my most favorite. When I'm coaching a student, I believe in a very tailored approach which encourages and strengthens the knowledge and skills that a student has and then adds the information that is needed to succeed. Rote memorization is not my strong suit, I believe in really understanding the underlying organizing principles. In my other job I design houses, and when I'm not doing that I love to read, and hike and do some woodworking now and then.
I am a graduate of Brigham Young University where I majored in International Relations and Russian and of Thunderbird School of Global Management where I earned an MBA in International Business. My college and graduate studies include coursework in Writing, Literature, Geography, History, Political Science, Russian, Music, Business, Math, Science, and Art. Because of my experience with many different disciplines, I am able to teach a wide variety of subjects and have experience working with students of all ages from middle school to middle aged. My greatest skill as a tutor is the ability to adapt challenging material to the viewpoint of my students. This allows me to build bridges of understanding that help more analytical people feel at home in creative disciplines or vice versa. If you are a gifted artist struggling with Math, or an aspiring scientist struggling with creative writing, I'm your man! I am also a very experienced writer and editor. In my free time I enjoy hiking, literature, ultimate Frisbee, international travel, soccer, baking, music, strategy games, and philosophical discussions. I have lived in Africa, Western Europe, and Russia and visited over a dozen countries. Please note that due to the many different subjects I have studied, the list of classes above is not complete. If you have tutoring needs for a very specific subject, I may well have taken a course in that area. Feel free to reach out with questions!
I am patient and always dedicated to trying my absolute best at helping every scholar I have the pleasure of tutoring. I am always prepared for every tutoring session and I bring all resources I have that have the potential to aid my scholar in any way. I have tutored individuals of all ages, ranging from elementary school students to college students, in a variety of subjects. Although I love to tutor students in many subjects, I am particularly intrigued by language, so my favorite subjects to tutor are English and French. Tutoring is such a rewarding experience for me because I find true joy in helping others succeed! I am passionate about helping students because I realize the value in knowledge, and having the opportunity to spread knowledge is an awesome and fun experience for me. I am a huge nature-lover, so in my spare time, I enjoy taking nature walks and going on hikes.
I am a graduate student at Arizona State University, pursuing a Master's degree in Education. I previously received my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Arizona State as well. I have 8 years of tutoring experience with students in middle school and high school. I plan to pursue a PhD in Education at the conclusion of my Master's program.
I am a student at the University of Arizona. I am majoring in Nutritional Sciences with minors in Biochemistry and Spanish. I hope to attend medical school upon graduating and continue to learn throughout the rest of my life! I have extensive experience taking Science, Math, and English courses through the undergraduate level. I have experience tutoring a freshman in high school in Pre-Algebra and Biology and have experience teaching students of all grade levels Nutrition. My goal is for students to deeply understand each concept we go over. I enjoy learning the "why?" when studying my courses, and I hope those who I tutor will also learn this. It allows us to have an enriched comprehension!
