I am an occupational therapy assistant looking to put my math skills back to work by tutoring. I began tutoring as a high school freshman and continued throughout my college years in subjects ranging from pre algebra up to physics 1.

I am also invested in their success.

Teaching is something that's always come naturally to me. Learning, however, wasn't. A few years ago, I was the kind of student who would need tutoring; now, here I am. From coding and math to writing and SAT-prep, I've gone through it all: now, I'm here to help students get through their own academic hurdles, whether it be study habits or terrifying AP's. I've been tutoring since 2017, working to get many students performing above grade level, and most recently worked at Fingertip Learning as a biology and engineering teacher whilst leading scratch and python workshops. Volunteering last year at Lockdown Learning allowed me to discover that I am most passionate at working with students for writing, SAT Math, and coding. I pride myself in my interpersonal, adaptational, empathetic, and organizational skills teaching students K-12 from various backgrounds. I'm a big believer that progress is correlated with time: there's no better time to start learning than now.

I am a rising sophomore at Harvard College and am about to declare as a Mechanical Engineering concentrator, working towards a Bachelor of Science degree. I've always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with my peers and those around me and have done so in both formal and informal settings. I've been a tutor for both Math and Spanish programs in high school and enjoyed the strides I made with students. I am willing to tutor any subject I have a background in, but am strong in mathematics, the sciences, Spanish, history, writing, and ACT prep. I enjoy teaching mathematics most due to the joy I can see in children once they master a topic and can answer even pointed questions meant to stump them, and maybe even put their knowledge to real world use. As a tutor, I like to give a strong foundation to orient my student, and then gradually grant them more freedom and independence until they can feel themselves grasp the concept, pointing out pitfalls or common errors along the way; teachers who used these methods on me always left the most lasting impressions. Outside of my studies, I really enjoy listening to music, both old favorites and new interests, reading classics, and gaming/playing basketball with my friends.

I am exploring my creativity by pursuing a double major in Asian Languages and Cultures with a focus in Korean, studying abroad in South Korea as a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar, leading workshops that teach 3D printing and CAD for undergraduate students as the president of 3D4E, advocating for the first-generation and low-income student community as the Outreach Chair of the Quest+ Scholars Network, and getting involved with the Society of Women Engineers' outreach committee. I currently hold a work-study position as an administrative clerical aide in the Institute of Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern and was an undergraduate researcher in the John Rogers Lab. As I look forward with aspirations of applying to graduate school, areas of research in biomedical engineering and biotechnology that I am particularly interested in include biomaterials, pharmaceuticals, and drug delivery systems. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy learning on my own and sharing my experience and knowledge with my peers and other students. I hope to make use of my experiences with academics and learning in high school and so far in my undergraduate career in order to effectively tutor students who may be experiencing the same struggles in learning that I also experienced.

Right after graduation, I worked as an academic and test prep tutor as well as admissions consultant in Hong Kong. I'm Anna! I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.

I'm referring to math, of course, but I didn't always like the subject. Until about age 16, I thought of math as a boring, mind-numbing process of blindly memorizing formulas and then forgetting them after the test, but a series of wonderful teachers showed me the truth. I had thought that everything in math was invented arbitrarily just to torture students, but actually it all made sense in a deep way. When I caught a glimpse of what math really was, I found it irresistible and I ended up majoring in math in college at UChicago. I'm currently a Master's student in Computer Science at NYU.

I am an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology on the Premed track. I have two years worth of experience peer tutoring. I feel the most confident tutoring ACT preparation. During my time as a high school student, I worked from an ACT score of 25 to a 36 and developed many effective strategies that I will tailor to the students I tutor and understand the ins and outs of the test. In addition to working with high school peers, I have also enjoyed teaching private piano and violin lessons for elementary students. Helping people knock down their roadblocks is a passion of mine. I'm Kade and I'm currently a second-year at Northwestern University studying biology and chemistry on the pre-medical track. I'm fairly good at math. I love art and music and movies and make sure to spare some time for a good TV show once in a while. I'm plenty mature, but I have to admit I have a soft spot for cartoons. I am a sophomore in college at McGill University and am studying Biology and Computer Science. I am passionate about science and would love to help kids who are struggling with it. I am studying to get my PhD at the University of Chicago. I've guided students with special needs aged 3-14 through summer program activities in Shanghai, coordinated an after-school program for K-12 refugee students in Chicago, and interacted with secondary school students in Jinja, Uganda. Since my first year in college, I've worked as a tutor for a morning program in an elementary school in Evanston. I have the most experience tutoring Elementary School Math and Reading and the most content knowledge in Psychology, though I am also passionate about helping students with ACTs/College apps due to having myself navigated through the system's challenges recently. I'm Mickey, a recent Northwestern University engineering grad who moved back to Evanston near the end of 2019. I'm great at math, and excited to help teach students in any subject I can! I'm predominately looking to do online tutoring currently, as it's important to stay healthy and responsible during these crazy times. Still plenty to learn online to stay up while schools are down, though!

I am good at test taking, is my ability to organize information. It's a skill I use both in my academic life, as well as professionally; as a stage manager, it is often my job to take in complicated and conflicting pieces of information (the blocking, a quick change in costumes, changes in a script) and quickly organize that information so that I can convey it to someone else. I enjoy and excel at condensing and re-communicating facts or tasks, so that they become comprehensible to someone who may not understand them the first time around.

I am a current sophomore at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I am studying Human and Organizational Development, a major that teaches students how to identify and solve problems in organizations and communities. In the future, I am looking to get involved in the nonprofit sector of education and may pursue teaching after graduation.
