About Me
I received my bachelor's in English with a concentration in creative writing from Northwestern University in 2017. I recently moved back to my hometown of Brookfield, WI to pursue my master's in social work part time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!). In college, I worked as a peer writing tutor for both undergraduate and graduate students, helping them plan and edit papers in every subject. After graduation, I worked as an AmeriCorps service member in an after-school academic and enrichment program for elementary school students, and eventually rose to manage the program. Although I am comfortable tutoring a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about writing and language, and I truly believe that strong writing skills are an asset in every area of life. Through my experience as an after-school program manager, I learned to build relationships and work well with students, parents, and teachers to meet student goals. My social work background helps me connect with students on a personal and social-emotional level, which lays a trusting foundation for real growth and learning.
Hobbies & Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy reading (especially memoir and poetry), writing, trying new recipes, and I have recently started learning to play the guitar!
