I am a graduate of Dartmouth College, where I received a B.A. in Comparative Literature, with a focus on Spanish and Performance Studies. At Dartmouth, I T.A.'d Spanish classes for all 4 years using the Rassias method, an individualized approach that aims to build fluency by focusing on verb structure, syntax, and pronunciation. After graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, I moved to Boston where I worked at software company HubSpot, honing my tech abilities and using my teaching skills to give bilingual support to customers from around the globe. I primarily tutor in Spanish, but I am also passionate about history, literature, and middle- and early high- school math. In my free time, I enjoy writing plays, reading, cooking, and getting outdoors! Hobbies: reading, cooking, music, hiking, art, movies, outdoors, books, writing

I am a graduate of Walt Whitman High School and a current Senior at Harvard University. I am a pre-medical student who has been accepted to medical school, and I am a Slavic Languages and Literatures Major. I have tutored private clients in elementary, middle, and high school math for years; worked with disabled students on improving communication and academic skills through the "Best Buddies" program; and taught English language to Russian speakers during a U.S. State Department study abroad scholarship in Moldova. Though I tutor a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Math, and Public Speaking. In my experience, preparing students for Standardized Testing is immensely satisfying (especially in the Writing and Reading sections) as so much of a student's success is based on their mastery of testing techniques and strategies. I also firmly believe that Public Speaking, as well as organizational skills, are critical to a student's level of confidence and advancement in any subject. I understand that each individual student has a unique approach to learning, and I try to pinpoint the most effective study and comprehension strategies for each of my students, so that he or she feels that his or her time is being used effectively, and so he or she can utilize new tools for success in future classes. In my spare time, I enjoy theater (whether that be participating as a performer or singing along to songs in the car), soccer, dance, and reading.

I am most passionate about math though, because it can be related to any subject, and because the skills that are developed through mathematical thinking can help create success in other areas. I try to use multiple approaches while teaching, and present ideas as visually and tangibly as possible. One of the dangers of learning math is that students memorize the method for solving a problem but do not realize the underlying concepts. I do my best to ensure that students recognize the broader concepts. Because math builds on itself, it is also very important to look at past topics that relate to students’ current lessons. There is not always time for teachers do this in a classroom setting. Often you’ll find that a student’s struggles come from missing previous skills that are assumed as their lessons advance. My ultimate goal is to help students build their confidence with math and to set them up for success in their future studies, whether those studies are directly or indirectly related.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Cambridge has four school districts serving over 8,200 students across 30 schools, and Varsity Tutors connects students from all of them with personalized tutoring. Whether your student attends a Cambridge public school, charter school, or private institution, we can match them with a tutor who understands the local curriculum and academic expectations in the area.

Massachusetts has rigorous state standards, and Cambridge schools align their curriculum accordingly. Tutors who work with Cambridge students are familiar with these expectations and can provide targeted support in areas like ELA, math, and science to help students master grade-level standards and prepare for state assessments. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction is particularly effective for closing gaps and building confidence in challenging subjects.

Your first session is an opportunity for the tutor and student to get to know each other and identify specific learning goals. The tutor will assess your student's current level, discuss any academic challenges, and create a personalized plan tailored to their needs. This foundation helps ensure that every subsequent session builds directly toward measurable progress.

Cambridge students seek tutoring across a wide range of subjects, with particularly strong demand for math, science, and English language arts at all grade levels. We also connect students with tutors for test preparation (SAT, ACT, AP exams), foreign language support, and help with advanced coursework. The specific needs vary by student, which is why personalized instruction is so valuable.

Varsity Tutors connects students with expert tutors who have strong subject expertise and teaching experience. Tutors working with Cambridge students understand the local academic environment and can adapt their instruction to match individual learning styles and goals. Each tutor is carefully selected to ensure they're a good fit for your student's needs.

Scheduling is highly flexible to fit your family's needs. Whether your student needs weekly sessions, intensive support before an exam, or help with a specific project, Varsity Tutors can arrange personalized instruction that works with your calendar. You can adjust frequency and timing as your student's needs change throughout the school year.

Tutoring costs vary based on the subject, tutor expertise, and frequency of sessions. We offer flexible pricing options to fit different budgets, and we're happy to discuss what works best for your situation. Contact us for a personalized quote and to learn about any current offers for Cambridge families.

Progress looks different for each student—it might be improved grades, stronger test scores, increased confidence, or better understanding of difficult concepts. Your tutor will regularly communicate with you about what they're observing and can share specific examples of growth. Many Cambridge parents notice improvements within the first few weeks of consistent, personalized instruction.
