I am comfortable with a wide range of subjects, but I have a particular fondness for history and literature, and I am particularly experienced at helping students with their writing. I'm currently working my way through the required courses to apply to Medical School, and I'm excited to share my newfound passion for the sciences with younger students. I believe that academic success can lead students to personal growth as well as a brighter future. I enjoy helping my students achieve their goals, whether they are seeking to master a subject they find challenging or improve their scores on a standardized test. When I'm not studying (or at the lab) myself, I'm either at dance class, cooking a large meal for my friends, or appreciating the arts at a performance, gallery, or museum.

Hello! My name is Mihir, and I'm a passionate and experienced math tutor with a strong academic foundation. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, where I concentrated in Discrete Mathematics and Logic and earned a Minor in Computer Science. I also completed my M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My background equips me with both deep mathematical knowledge and a problem-solving mindset that I bring into every tutoring session. I specialize in tutoring Math at the middle and high school levels. In the past, I've taught SAT Math, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and Algebra 1 and 2, among other subjects. My teaching approach focuses on building intuition and a sense of methodical problem-solving so that students can avoid memorization and cramming. I believe that this is the best way for students to be assured of their own skills and have confidence in tackling problems on their own.
I am a patient and passionate tutor with the belief that any student can succeed in reaching their full potential with the right tools, guidance, and practice. As an admitted medical school student, I have a strong biology/chemistry and test prep foundation.
I'm a rising junior at Rutgers majoring in English with a minor is Pyschology. I'm also planning on applying to the Graduate School of Education so I've taken a lot of classes related to that as well. I've been tutoring for most of my academic career, but currently I work as a paid tutor at my school's writing center during the school year, helping students who struggle with college level writing. Most of the students I tutor tend to be international students so I have a good amount of experience working with students who speak English as a second language. Obviously I tutor writing, but I also love working with literature because I love stories and I love how different people experience those stories in different ways, which I feel also reflect my "teaching philosophy". Everyone understands things in different ways, but sometimes knowledge is presented in a way that is not easily understood. My job is to bridge that gap, so to speak. Outside of school, I I like reading, writing (which sounds a lot like the stuff I do in school, now that I think about it), watching TV, movies, and YouTube videos, browsing the internet, and walking around my neighborhood.
I'm on a mission to ignite a love for learning in younger generations. As an undergraduate at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, I'm pursuing a Computer Science Degree and channeling my enthusiasm for academics into my tutoring endeavors.
I am currently pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Data Science through the Honors College at Rutgers University. With years of hands-on experience tutoring students in math, coding, science, and test prep, I bring a passionate, adaptable approach to teaching that meets each student exactly where they are. I've worked with students of all ages, from teaching over 40 kids how to swim to mentoring peers in advanced coding and math concepts. My tutoring journey began with helping classmates grasp difficult concepts in calculus and computer science, and it grew into a love for making complex ideas feel intuitive and engaging. Whether breaking down multivariable calculus, guiding students through their first lines of code, or preparing them for standardized exams like the SAT, I focus on building confidence and curiosity alongside academic skill. I tutor a wide range of subjects, including Pre-Algebra through Calculus III, Linear Algebra, High School Biology, Python, Java, R, and SAT Math and Reading. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and programming, because they offer students a toolkit to solve real-world problems, build cool projects, and think creatively about how the world works. My teaching philosophy centers on empowerment and active learning. I believe students succeed when they feel safe to ask questions, explore solutions, and connect learning to their interests. I prioritize understanding over memorization, and I tailor every session to the student's pace, goals, and learning style. Outside of academics, I'm a gym enthusiast training for my first powerlifting competition, a software developer building real-world applications, and a multi-time hackathon winner. I bring that same energy and drive into every tutoring session, aiming not just to teach, but to inspire.
I am a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. I have several years of tutoring experience in math, English, and broad sciences for kindergarten to high schoolers. Additionally, I have tutored several students for the SAT and ACT who have had favorable results. I truly enjoy working with school students to help them further their education and have made it a part of my routine since highschool.
I am a student at the Honors College of Rutgers - New Brunswick. I am currently working towards attaining a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Business and Administration. Over the last five years, I have reconciled my passion for teaching and my desire to interact with fellow students through tutoring. While I have tutored in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about science, math, and English. Having taught many students, each of whom were different in terms of personality and learning style, I understand the importance of tailoring the lesson to the student's strengths. As a result, I work to create unique, individualized learning plans that engage the student and make learning feel like an opportunity, rather than a chore.
I'm a motivated and enthusiastic engineer with a drive to always continue learning, share knowledge with others and inspire.
I am most comfortable teaching the SAT Reading/Writing and helping youths with their personal statements. Furthermore, my one-year experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA for PeaceJam Foundation – an award-winning organization that promotes service learning and peacekeeping through the combined efforts of Nobel Peace Laureates and young people – has instilled in me a deep reverence and hope for our youths today. I strongly believe in our youths’ limitless potential to pursue their dreams and become agents of positive social change and know I will be an excellent mentor/coach through their journey.
I am confident I will be able to use my experience and current knowledge to raise your grades and scores.
I am eager to share this with the students of Varsity Tutors. I with students from K-12 in the US, university students in China, mentally disabled adults in Harlem, and villagers in Mozambique. My favorite subject is biology and I also particularly enjoy writing, but I am happy to work on a variety of subjects with students.
I am a senior studying Physics and Math at the University of Texas at Dallas. I will receive a Bachelor's of Science in Physics in 2016. For years, helping people learn to approach problems and concepts in Math and Physics has been very satisfying to me. Finding the simplest way to think about an initially daunting idea or task and assisting others in recognizing the necessary reasoning process is a great experience. I tutor primarily Physics and Math, with a preference for Calculus because of the fact that the concepts of Calculus lend themselves so naturally to intuitive physical interpretations and analogies. I am also able to help with SAT preparation. My main hobbies include reading, playing strategy games, and watching basketball.
I'm a Sophomore enrolled in TCNJ's 7 Year Medical Program. I have prior experience in tutoring from helping previous clients within SAT Math. I am also available to tutor in SAT Prep and writing. I am very passionate about helping students of all backgrounds realize their dreams and become more passionate and confident about their academics. I provide focused, targeted lessons and often rely on analogies as well as visual teaching aids within my lessons. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Political Science, and I am working down the pre-med track. I have experience teaching, as I am currently a teaching assistant for General Chemistry at Pitt and I have also tutored with Kumon Learning in the past. The areas that I am most passionate about tutoring are SAT prep and college-level courses. This is because I know how stressful these two can be to students. My goal is to try and alleviate some of that stress and make you feel prepared and confident for taking the SAT and passing college courses with flying colors. My belief is that for a person to live a rich life, they should be constantly learning about something new. It helps keeps your mind sharp throughout life, and helps you appreciate the world around you. This is a belief that I try to stress to everyone around me, including my students. In terms of my tutoring style, I try to build a rigid lesson plan for my students that will prepare them, but at the same time, not overwhelm them. I have found that organization and having a plan are keys to success in education.
I am a Biology geek, currently enrolled in NYU pursuing a Masters in Bioinformatics. I love all things science, and am building a career working in Big Data. I love working with kids of all ages, and evaluate each child to determine what resources work best.

I offer SAT test prep, AP test prep, and academic tutoring in English, History, and Social Studies. I also offer assistance with academic essays, college admissions essays, and college applications.
I am passionate about education, learning, teaching, and specifically literatures and languages. I have experience as an ESL teacher for young children and teens, as well as experience working as a Writing Consultant at my undergraduate institution. I also spent all four years of my undergraduate career volunteering as an SAT tutor for local high schoolers. Beyond this, I have experience both as a private and public Spanish tutor. For this reason I recently took the DAT, which I am capable of assisting you with as well. During my undergraduate education, which I completed this past December, I worked in my school's tutoring center, helping my peers succeed in mathematics and science courses. Outside of my academic life, I am a big sports fan and I mostly follow the New York sports teams. For fun, I like to play basketball and golf with my friends. I am looking forward towards getting to know you and helping you with your academic needs.
I am a passionate educator with a strong background in computer science, mathematics, and STEM subjects. Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science with focuses on artificial intelligence and education at Purdue University, I have been tutoring since high school, where I began teaching coding to middle and high school students. Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping students excel in a variety of subjects, including AP courses(APCSA - 5, AP Calc AB - 5, AP World - 4), SAT preparation(1590), and programming. My favorite subjects to tutor are mathematics and coding because they not only build critical thinking skills but also empower students to solve real-world problems creatively. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, tailoring my teaching approach to each student's unique learning style. I believe in fostering a growth mindsetencouraging students to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and learn. Beyond academics, I have a deep interest in soccer and motorsports, and I love integrating real-life examples from these areas to make lessons engaging and relatable. My goal as a tutor is to build students' confidence, inspire a lifelong love of learning, and equip them with the skills they need to achieve their goals.
I am a freshman at Caltech majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I find it very rewarding to simplify complex topics to aid in understanding. I have lots of tutoring experience. In high school, I ran and taught an SAT prep class and was vice president of my school's NHS chapter where I ran our tutoring program, and I, myself, tutored. I also was a teaching assistant in the summer of 2020 for a class in discrete mathematics through a program called PACT (Program in Algorithmic and Combinatorial Thinking). I love learning and hope to make the process enjoyable for you!
I am current student at The University of Chicago. I have extensive experience working with children in multiple settings. I am passionate about teaching, and hope I will be able to assist you in overcoming any academic struggles.
I am currently an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering. One of the most rewarding aspects tutoring is helping students arrive at that "Eureka" moment when the concept or idea they have been trying to understand suddenly clicks. I hope to be a mentor to students as I draw from my own experiences, having been in the same shoes not long ago. I enjoy tutoring all subjects, particularly math, physics, and biology.
I'm a Mechanical Engineering PhD Candidate at Lehigh University. I enjoy lifting, basketball, soccer, investing, technology, and soon hope to travel. I graduated from Bucknell University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in May, along with a Math Minor.
I am in New York City studying acting, and I want to bring the same energy, enthusiasm and compassion that is required on stage to my students. I have experience tutoring for the SATs, and I have had significant experience serving as a mentor to younger students, particularly in the university setting. I love coaching and helping students discover their intellectual passions. Most importantly, I am thrilled by the prospect of helping a student set concrete goals and progress towards actualizing them in an academic realm. But above all I want to work with students to help them develop strategies that are personally effective and furthermore that link their passions with their education.
I am a friendly, patient, sociable, articulate person and I look forward to helping you succeed!
I am an undergraduate studying Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

I am a motivated student and have taken the highest level of courses possible in both high school and my first year of college. I am a very mathematically minded person so I have a deep understanding of numbers which will help me effectively teach math based courses. I believe that I will make a good tutor because I am able to effectively teach in a number of different styles including visual, verbal and by example so I can make sure that if a student does not understand something at first, they will at the end.

I am a junior at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania studying Economics, Finance, and Business Analytics. For the last few years, I have been helping students with college application and test prep help, such as college essays, common app, and SAT/Subject SATs. I came from a high school where these resources for college and SAT prep were not as readily available, so I want to work towards making college more accessible by helping students with their application. Past students of mine have gotten into NYU, UMich, and Georgetown.
I am a very motivated individual that will ensure all my students succeed in their studies. I am currently a student at Boston College, majoring Biology and Hispanic Studies. Teaching has always been a rewarding experience for me and I am grateful that I have the ability to provide not only knowledge, but also support and inspiration as a mentor and a friend; I believe that students and tutors alike can learn and continue to grow in a positive manner through such experience.
