I love tutoring one-on-one because I can get to know students and gear the lessons toward their interests, which helps them learn more quickly, retain new skills better, and enjoy the tutoring sessions more. I particularly enjoy teaching science, writing, and test prep. With test prep I've found that supplemental work on fundamental skills helps students improve their scores much more than working through a test prep book alone. Watching students develop confidence in their abilities and improve their performance makes my tutoring sessions some of the best hours of my week!
