I am eager to share this with the students of Varsity Tutors. I with students from K-12 in the US, university students in China, mentally disabled adults in Harlem, and villagers in Mozambique. My favorite subject is biology and I also particularly enjoy writing, but I am happy to work on a variety of subjects with students.

I am an English and essay writing tutor available to help with English and language arts assignments, grammar, essay writing, literary analysis, and ACT and SAT writing and reading. In 2011, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in English language and Literature. Before tutoring with Varsity Tutors, I tutored for another private company. I am an excellent tutor because I remember distinctly what it was like to be a student and can both empathize with their frustrations and help them to move past those blocks and toward a greater understanding of the material. I believe in my students and genuinely care about their success, which shows in my work. I am a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. I have several years of tutoring experience in math, English, and broad sciences for kindergarten to high schoolers. I am a student at the Honors College of Rutgers - New Brunswick. I am currently working towards attaining a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Business and Administration. Over the last five years, I have reconciled my passion for teaching and my desire to interact with fellow students through tutoring. I am a senior studying Physics and Math at the University of Texas at Dallas. I will receive a Bachelor's of Science in Physics in 2016. For years, helping people learn to approach problems and concepts in Math and Physics has been very satisfying to me. Finding the simplest way to think about an initially daunting idea or task and assisting others in recognizing the necessary reasoning process is a great experience. I tutor primarily Physics and Math, with a preference for Calculus because of the fact that the concepts of Calculus lend themselves so naturally to intuitive physical interpretations and analogies. I am also able to help with SAT preparation. My main hobbies include reading, playing strategy games, and watching basketball.

I am a freshman at Caltech majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I find it very rewarding to simplify complex topics to aid in understanding. I have lots of tutoring experience. In high school, I ran and taught an SAT prep class and was vice president of my school's NHS chapter where I ran our tutoring program, and I, myself, tutored. I'm a freelance writer, recent Yale grad, former concert pianist and word lover. For the past three years I've worked as a writing specialist at the Yale College Writing Center, where I edited papers on topics from Turkish prison reform to Faulkner to hemoglobin studies. This past summer, I traveled to 14 countries as part of the singing group Whim 'n Rhythm. On that trip, I taught a cappella, singing and choral workshops with students of all ages.
