About Me
She first started tutoring at Harlem Village Academies, a network of charter schools in New York City. Inspired by the success of these one-on-one Saturday morning tutoring sessions, she created a volunteer tutoring program bringing students from a Westchester high school to teach Harlem middle school students. When she began her studies at GWU, Rachel continued tutoring in Washington, D.C. at SAIL Charter School, teaching mathematics to kindergartners. In 2012, she was selected as a research assistant for Columbia University Teacher's College and helped develop cutting-edge educational mathematics software. In her free time she enjoys playing guitar and piano, reading historical fiction and fantasy novels, painting, playing soccer, and rock-climbing.
