My degree provided me with a strong foundation in chemistry and biology; my courses emphasized the brain's biological and chemical processes and how these processes relate to human behavior. Two years of experience in this leadership role provided me with strong communication skills, expertise in various instruction strategies, and the ability to excite students about learning. I'm particularly passionate about chemistry, and am excited to share my enthusiasm for science with others. With the life sciences, I emphasize overall understanding in place of rote memorization. With math, I stress practice to best develop critical thinking and problem solving techniques. These are general strategies that can be adapted to meet the unique learning style of each student. While not tutoring, I love to dance! Jazz and ballet are my main passions, but I enjoy all dance styles. I also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and playing with my dogs. I also appreciate a good science fiction novel when I have time.
