About Me
I received my B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Comparative Literature at The CUNY Graduate Center with a language focus on Spanish texts and an interest in the American Romantic Movement. I have always had a strong interest in English grammar and composition, and I have tutored that subject area extensively both during my undergraduate studies and at present. My strength is SAT test prep, both Verbal and Writing, as well as Critical Reading and Composition practice. Strong language skills are critical for a student’s success and advancement every step of the way, from elementary school to future growth in the workplace. During tutoring sessions, my goal is to help my students gain not only the skill sets necessary to read critically and write competently, but also to gain a love of reading that will last a lifetime. I try to challenge myself every day to do one thing that pushes me out of my comfort zone, whether it be going for a long run or bike ride to a new part of the city, speaking up in class with a question, or embracing a public speaking opportunity. I have found that when I take a small step towards meeting a challenge, then the next time a big, menacing problem comes around, it just does not seem so bad.
