About Me
After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, I accepted an Instructor position in the School of Information at the University of Arizona to begin my career in teaching. At the end of my first year of teaching high school, I decided to return to UA to continue my graduate-level education and to pursue a career in Medical Physics. Patience, communication, and empathy are central to my teaching philosophy and are key skills for any successful teacher, and with the right toolkit, anyone can learn and master a subject. I believe students tend to find these technical subjects difficult due to simple misunderstandings and gaps, or due to a lack of descriptive visual tools to help the student envision complex problems and ideas, which is particularly important in STEM topics. Additionally, one-on-one time with the student is invaluable to helping the student and being able to precisely pinpoint any confusion, misunderstandings, or question-asking anxieties that students often face in a full classroom.
Hobbies & Interests
In my free time, I enjoy going on adventures with my fiancé and our two goofy dogs, playing Pokémon Go! and Fortnite (among other video and tabletop games) with friends, and catching movies at The Loft.
