About Me
I am a PhD Candidate in History at the University of California, Berkeley but am currently living in New York while finishing my dissertation on the British Empire in India in the late 18th Century. I am originally from New York City and attended a very academically oriented private school, so I have first-hand experience with the stresses and concerns many students face, regardless of the school they attend. I benefited from private tuition myself and would like to consider my story a successful one, therefore I hope to carry on the benefits of tutoring to my own students. I have 7 years experience private tutoring a diverse range of subjects in New York and London, and 6 years experience as a teaching assistant of History and Italian at the University level. I've worked with a range of students from high-achieving undergraduates to students at pressure-cooker college preparatory schools to children with high-functioning Autism. My specialty subjects are History, English, Latin, essay-writing, exam preparation, and I have extensive experience preparing students for exam prep (PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE to name a few) and university applications in the USA and the UK. I chose to go to graduate school and continue working in the field of education because I am passionate about both learning and teaching whether this takes place at home, in a classroom, or at an international conference.
