About Me
With my extensive teaching experience, tutoring comes naturally to me. I taught English as a Second Language in Senegal using a curriculum I developed from scratch, tailored to three different age levels. After that, I taught English as a Second Language to recent immigrants in Philadelphia, focusing on their individual learning needs. As a Hebrew teacher, I adapted my lessons to ensure that all my students, including those with learning disabilities, were able to succeed. My tutoring style is very student-driven. I want to hear about YOUR goals, YOUR learning style, and YOUR likes/dislikes. My goal in each session is to help you have fun, learn what you need to learn, and increase your confidence in your abilities. Outside of tutoring, I am an avid crafter. In particular, glassblowing--scorching! thrilling! gorgeous!--will always be the love of my life. I also love the calm meditation of making ceramics. Give me a pottery wheel, and I could stay there all day. In fact, every craft has its charms--I also love jewelry-making, knitting, crocheting, sewing, origami, polymer clay, welding, woodworking, and so much more. When I'm not working with my hands, I love to write. I am currently working on a novel and Star Wars fanfiction. In particular, I'm fascinated by the effects writing can have on a person's thoughts, emotions, and life. After earning my master's degree, I plan to design a Creative Writing Therapy program.
