READING BACKGROUNDWith nearly a decade of experience in education, I have earned my permanent certification as a reading specialist, my permanent teaching certification for English 7-12, and my official Wilson Reading System certification. As an on-staff reading specialist, I have the additional responsibility of aligning our school's curriculum with PA Core Standards and ensuring all curriculums utilize reading interventions. As a member of the International Literacy Association, I work patiently and encouragingly with students across a wide range of academic abilities. My professional goal is to develop my students' self-efficacy and growth mindset. MATHEMATICS BACKGROUNDI was identified as gifted in mathematics in elementary school and took college mathematics courses while I was still in middle school. Although my personal passions have developed into the reading specialist realm, I have a strong propensity for mathematics all the way into the realm of Calculus. When taking my PRAXIS teaching certification exam to teach high school, I was in the top 10% of all test takers in both the reading and mathematics components. I have previously tutored students in Trigonometry and Statistics, and I have a multitude of experiences tutoring in Algebra and Geometry as well.

I love attending theater productions and writing poetry. Above all, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter on our homestead farm.
