I have worked as a classroom teacher (in Middle School and High School Choir as well as Elementary General Music) and a private lesson instructor of piano and voice. I served for seven years as Musical Director at Pleasant Lake United Methodist Church where I learned to cultivate an ear for pianistic improvisation as well. My guiding philosophy as an educator is to give students the tools they need to achieve their own academic goals. As a tutor, I help students identify these goals and develop strategies to work towards them. This helps to foster an independence when it comes to academic achievement. This independence is essential for true success. I am available to tutor in the following subjects: Music, Music Theory and AP Music Theory.

When I'm not being a nerd about music, I am generally found being a nerd about Table Top Role Playing Games like Dungeons and Dragons, or enjoying a good book.
