Certified Tutor

I am a 2014 graduate of the University of Virginia where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in studio art. I am currently enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Lincoln Memorial University and working toward becoming a Veterinarian. I had an amazing tutor while I was in high school and going through testing that really set the tone for my study habits and ethics while in college and through graduate school, and I want to help others to have the same great experience. I was a peer teacher for three years in the biology department and was present during intro level labs to answer questions about dissection procedures and concepts. I really enjoyed being able to help my peers and to show them what makes me passionate about the subject. Through this experience, I discovered that learning through teaching is the best way to solidify a concept and to make sure you really understand it, so I like to check on students understanding by asking them to explain back to me using different words. As a veterinary student, my primary interests are in math and the biological sciences. In my spare time, I like to be active by going ballroom dancing, hiking, and skiing. I also enjoy cooking for my friends and family and reading with my cat on my lap.
