I am currently a student at Stanford University studying math and political science. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with younger students. I have helped students of different ages and from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, and so I am very conscious of the needs and prior knowledge my students and tailor my tutoring method and style individually.

I am a third year electrical engineering student at Princeton University, with a focus in applied physics, and minors in German studies and history. I want to tutor because I am always excited about learning new things, and I want to share this with students of all ages. I find that this way, a student can do difficult work, excel, and feel both accomplished and happy. I have a broad range of specialties, from physics, to programming in Java and C, to German, to test prep and college applications help. I also love workshopping all kinds of writing, whether personal or academic. Some of my qualifications include physics research at a Max Planck Institute and acceptances to Harvard and UC Berkeley. I have experience teaching environmental science to children at a botanical garden and volunteering as a reading tutor for elementary schoolers behind grade level.

Hello! My name is Mihir, and I'm a passionate and experienced math tutor with a strong academic foundation. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, where I concentrated in Discrete Mathematics and Logic and earned a Minor in Computer Science. I also completed my M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My background equips me with both deep mathematical knowledge and a problem-solving mindset that I bring into every tutoring session. I specialize in tutoring Math at the middle and high school levels. In the past, I've taught SAT Math, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and Algebra 1 and 2, among other subjects. My teaching approach focuses on building intuition and a sense of methodical problem-solving so that students can avoid memorization and cramming. I believe that this is the best way for students to be assured of their own skills and have confidence in tackling problems on their own.
I am a graduate of Cornell University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Health and Society. Since graduation, I have continued my education at Kean University. I plan to complete an informal postbach and apply directly to medical school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Biology and Physics. As a recent graduate from Cornell University with a degree in biological sciences and someone who plans to attend medical school in the future, my passion and appreciation for the sciences and medicine is something I consider integral to my identity. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology and chemistry as those are the subjects in which I have past teaching experience in the classroom setting. In particular, my teaching style focuses on rephrasing and remodeling initially daunting concepts and information into bite-sized and digestible bits of information that any student can comprehend. I firmly believe that a lot of what slows students down in the learning process is their preconceived notions of course material. My passion for helping students stems from my experiences as an undergraduate where I can remember on countless occasions feeling lost in the material with little direction on how to approach the curriculum. I can think back to the many times I would have benefitted from having someone who could have guided me through stretches of daunting coursework which led me to become a tutor myself. As a teaching assistant, I discovered my passion for helping students manage their way through courses that many considered to be very difficult. Seeing how they reacted to my assistance reminded me why I applied for the position in the first place and motivates me to help students learn more every single day.
I am currently a senior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major at Drew University. I believe that everyone possesses the ability to excel in their academic pursuits. I would love to help you with yours.
I'm an engineering student who tutors most levels of math and all sections of the SAT, with a focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize steps. I've worked with students in algebra, geometry, calculus, and SAT reading/math, breaking down problems into clear, manageable strategies. My teaching style is patient, structured, and motivating, and I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and see real improvement because I also want to be a teacher in the future.
I am a Mechanical Engineer from Stevens Institute of Technology (Graduated in May 2012). I recently left my job after 2 years as a Manufacturing Engineer to pursue a different opportunity as a Project Engineer. I currently work for one of the largest Medical Manufacturing companies in the world. I have always been strong at all kinds of math, which led me to my Engineering degree. Throughout school, I was always working in groups and helping my friends understand lessons whenever I could. For two years in Stevens I tutored Physics and Calculus 1. I prefer understanding concepts, rules, and formulas over memorization because I believe that when you understand them for what they are used for an why, it builds a lasting comprehension that is easier to grasp. I prefer working through practice problems and believe that practice really does make perfect when it comes to Math.
Hi! My name is Rashmi and I am recent college graduate looking to help student achieve academic success. I graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering as well as minors in both biology and chemistry. I have a lot of experience as a tutor and have helped many previously struggling student ace their classes. I can teach many subjects such as Algebra, Pre Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. My teaching philosophy is to help the student and put their needs first- I am here to guide them and help them in any way that I can. I typically start of my lessons going over the homework and any questions the student may have, then I do a review on what we learned last lesson, and then I move onto a new topic. This reinforcement technique is what I find brings the most success in the learning process.
I am currently working for a tutoring service called Princeton Tutoring as an independent contractor. STEM subjects in particular have the reputation for being boring and complicated, but I love that as a tutor I can help students make sense of the topics and find the fun!
I am deeply passionate about tutoring and teaching more generally. Knowledge has allowed us to build skyscrapers and fly to the moon, and to learn more about the human condition - it is my ultimate aim to be a clear, concise, and motivating educator.
I'm an electrical engineering major at Brown University with interests in neuroscience, linguistics, and robotics, among other things. I've always loved learning, and my curiosity has led me through numerous subject areas. I constantly seek to apply my classroom learning in practical situations. For example, I have conducted research on dementia using electrophysiology in a mollusk model. I participate in hackathons and robotics challenges that test not only my programming ability but also my hardware skills as a tinkerer. My engineering pursuits require a strong foundation in mathematics, my interest in the life sciences calls for a myriad of memorization techniques, and my participation in the academic world at large reminds me daily of the importance of sharp writing skills. I hope to share some of these things, both content and technique, with my students. Though I will make sure that they can come away from each session armed with the skills needed to take on the modern education system, I also hope that they will take with them some appreciation for learning itself.
I am a 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Finance/Economics major and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I am a passionate student in the math and business realms, as I enjoy the intuitiveness of the former and the real-world potential of the latter. During classes in middle and high school, I developed a reputation of being a good source of help within my classes in a non-tutor capacity, and grew that into a peer tutor role a couple times a week during lunch my senior year of high school. What I hope to accomplish with my tutoring is ensure that you not only achieve your desired grade/score, but see how the different concepts relate to each other in the bigger picture. The more important part is to critically think about the subject matter in other, more unfamiliar contexts. Also, in my math subjects, I seek to provide personal secrets in realms including quicker computation strategies, unique acronyms for certain rules, and other intuitive shortcuts.
I am an avid classical pianist, EMT, swimmer, and tinkerer. I love explaining things and paying forward my knowledge to those around me!
