I am a recent magna cum laude graduate of Duke University and a full-time educator in North Carolina. I have a passion for helping young people figure things out and have experience writing professionally.

I am currently a student at Duke University studying Biomedical Engineering and Economics. Just a little bit about me and some of my interests. Some of my favorite academic interests include memoirs and modern classics. I think Catcher in the Rye is still one of my all time favorite books but Percy Jackson, a modern classic, is up there too. Beyond academics, I take great guilty pleasure in watching TV shows such as Westworld, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, and even The Bachelorette when I'm at a low point.

I am an avid rower and bicyclist. I also greatly enjoy growing vegetables and playing basketball.

I am a freshman at Duke University in the Pratt School of Engineering. I plan on majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering, as well as Economics. While I am qualified to tutor a range of subjects from math and science to ACT prep, I get the most excited when working on improving a student's writing because it is such a beautiful process. Sparking students' curiosity and excitement is the most rewarding part of tutoring, and I make it my mission to achieve that with all students I work with. In my free time, I am involved in a variety of groups on campus such as the triathlon club, FEMMES (a female-oriented STEM tutoring club), and The Chronicle, which is Duke's student newspaper. I also enjoy reading, running and baking all sorts of delicious delicacies.

I am currently doing research on personalized therapies for glioblastoma brain tumors at the Duke Medical Center, before I continue on to medical school. I am a graduate student in the Masters of Interdisciplinary Data Science Program at Duke University. Previously, I worked at Student Support Services in Puerto Rico as a Data Analyst, and, prior to that position, I worked as a Math and English tutor. I am a graduate of Dartmouth College where I majored in History. I also received my M.Ed. from Boston College so that I could become a middle school and high school social studies teacher. Currently, I am working concurrently on my JD (at Duke University) and my Ph.D. in Education (at Boston College) and hope to one day combine the two degrees by working in policy. I am a sophomore studying economics at Duke University. I took AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics my junior and senior years of high school respectively, and got 5's on both tests. I've done well in math classes my whole life and that trend has continued into college. Throughout my math career, reaching out to people for help has been critical to my learning.

I am passionate about biomedical engineering, and am endlessly amazed by intricacies of the world around us. My degrees are in engineering (BS-General Engineering from Harvey Mudd, MS- Mechanical Engineering, and PhD-Bioengineering from Georgia Tech), but I also love art and literature and linguistics. I am a third-year college student enrolled in a rigorous international program and I will graduate with two bachelor's degrees in 2023. Hey, my name is Nitin Nagarajan, and I am a rising senior studying biomedical engineering. Orginially from Gadsden, AL, I excelled in many AP classes and the ACT and PSAT in high school. I only took the ACT once and received a 35 in my sophomore year, and became a National Merit Finalist the following year. I also have gotten 5s in APUSH, English Lit and Lang, and have high scores in a number of other AP courses. In college, I have taken several STEM classes, and are quite comfortable with a wide variety of topics.

I'm a senior at Duke University double-majoring in English and Political Science. My favorite classes tend to be English and Social Studies classes, and I enjoy the unique perspectives that each student brings to the topics that they're studying. I decided to join Varsity Tutors because I've always been passionate about helping my peers keep up with their classes. Two of my siblings have ADHD, and I know that many people are better suited to alternate learning approaches rather than the education styles that are popular in most classrooms.
