I'm Olivia, and I'm excited to be considered as your tutor. I primarily tutor French at all levels. In addition to my language education from a young age, working and studying in France and Belgium helped me attain fluency in French.

I am committed to serving others and guaranteeing the success of my students. My passion is helping those in need and alleviating struggle, especially with academics! I especially love working with the French language.

I'm going to be a senior at the University of Michigan. French is my mother tongue, as my mom's family all immigrated from France and still have a home there that I visit for several months every year. From kindergarten to 12th grade, I attended EFAC (Ecole Franco-Americaine de Chicago) and passed the French BAC in 11th grade. I've continued with my French education at the University of Michigan where I major in Creative Writing. Outside of French, my interests are writing, playing music, drawing/graphic design, and most importantly, traveling. I look forward to passing along my love for French and writing! I am a high school graduate currently attending Case Western Reserve University as a junior where I am double majoring in economics and physics. Although economics and physics are my majors, mathematics is my favourite subject. The reason I am tutoring is that I want to provide help in mathematics and other subjects which I did not have for myself when I was in high school. Not only do I want to tutor because I have a feeling it will be beneficial for students but I also enjoy teaching. Whenever I show teenagers something cool about physics or math, they seem to enjoy the subject more now that they know how it works and they also do better in their classes which is a great feeling for me and beneficial for the students. This friendly but passionate tutoring style is what will make the session enjoyable by both parties but also result in better grades. I also love sports(especially soccer and basketball), reading, writing and speedcubing.

My path into teaching was shaped by lived experience: I entered adulthood as a student who had struggled with reading and academics, then went on to become a 4.0 graduate and award-winning teacher by learning how transformative the right instruction and persistence can be. Over the past three decades, I have taught in some of the most challenging environmentsrural, under-resourced communities, high-need classrooms, and unfamiliar cultural settingsoften by choice. I have built literacy programs from the ground up, worked one-to-one with struggling learners, and helped students gain not only skills, but confidence and momentum. I am known for a calm, grounded presence, clear communication, and a belief that consistency and care matter just as much as curriculum. Beyond the classroom, my work has included youth program development, outdoor and experiential education, nonprofit collaboration, and extensive writing and communication. Whether teaching reading, mentoring young people, or leading programs, my focus has always been the same: meet people where they are, hold high expectations, and never give up on them.
