CIMA Tutoring FAQ
CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) is the first global accountancy body to pioneer a series of computerized assessments. In order to earn your certificate, you need to pass three Objective Exams before sitting for a Case Study exam that measures how well you can apply what you have learned in real world scenarios. Each of the Objective Tests is a 90-minute exam designed to assess all of a subject's component learning outcomes. The exam uses a multiple-choice format, meaning that your CIMA tutor can work with you to eliminate incorrect responses if you are ever unsure of an answer. They can also provide practice exams to give you an idea of how long you have to complete the test, helping you budget your time accordingly on test day.
The Case Study exam has a completely different format. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions over three hours designed to measure practical investment skills such as Research and Analysis, How to Present Information, Persuasion, and Communication Skills. Your CIMA tutor can answer any questions asked in an expedient manner, allowing you to work at your own pace instead of moving on before you're comfortable with something. Review courses often lack this ability to cater to an individual student's specific needs.
Moreover, the questions are based on real-world business scenarios provided to students six weeks before the exam. This gives you the unique opportunity to study the exact scenario that appears on your test with your tutor beforehand, allowing for brainstorming sessions that could produce better results than either of you could on your own.
