Varsity Tutors offers CLEP Calculus tutoring to students hoping to bypass introductory-level college calculus classes and earn college credit. As with any exam, the time you spend on your CLEP Calculus test preparation can increase your confidence and skills before this exam. CLEP Calculus classes allow you to work with a skilled tutor in a one-on-one environment.
The CLEP Calculus exam is divided into two main sections. Your CLEP Calculus test prep can help you get ready for both of these sections:
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Section 1: approximately 27 questions, approximately 50 minutes.
No calculator is allowed for this section. - Section 2: approximately 17 questions, approximately 40 minutes.
The use of an online graphing calculator (non-CAS) is allowed for this section. Only some of the questions will require the use of the calculator.
A CLEP Calculus class gives you the opportunity to develop a deeper and more intuitive understanding of the type of knowledge needed for this exam. Throughout the exam, students are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of both integral and differential calculus. In addition, those taking the exam are expected to understand and use algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, and general functions. CLEP calculus prep allows you to focus your study time on any of these topics or other areas where you may struggle for this exam. One of the beauties of CLEP Calculus courses is the flexibility to direct your study to focus on areas where you need to improve the most. To maximize your CLEP Calculus test prep, sessions can adapt to your learning style. CLEP Calculus tutors work with you according to your goals. Here are some example problems that show what the kind of material you and your CLEP calculus tutor can work through together:
Practice Questions:
- If f(x) = x^nsin(x), then f`(x) =
- x^n-1[x cos(x) + n sin(x)]
- x^n-1[x cos(x) + sin(x)]
- x^n[x cos(x) + n sin(x)]
- x^n[cos(x) + n sin(x)]
- x^n-1[cos(x) + sin(x)]
- If x^2y + y^2 = 4x^2 + x, then dy/dx =
- (8x + 1)/(x^22 + 2y)
- (8x + 1 - 2xy)/(x^2 + 2y + 1)
- (8x + 2xy)/(x^2 + 2y + 1)
- (8x + 1 - 2xy)/(x^2 + 2y)
- (8x + 1 - 2xy)/(x + 2y)
Test-taking strategies can also be a part of your CLEP Calculus test prep. A CLEP Calculus course is a great opportunity to practice methods of organizing your time to effectively answer as many questions as possible. Your CLEP Calculus preparation can help you to make the most of the limited time allotted to each section. Additionally, you and the tutor can practice making decisions about which questions to answer first. Sometimes, if you skip a difficult question, it allows you to answer several other questions correctly in the time it would take you to answer the one difficult question.
CLEP Calculus tutoring gives you immediate feedback to help you maximize your time. This feedback helps you to build good study habits, make the most of your CLEP Calculus test prep, and develop effective test-taking skills. As your sessions progress, you and the tutor are able to re-evaluate either your goals or methods based on your needs.
Instructors are available at a variety of times. When you sign up for CLEP Calculus prep, we will connect you to an instructor who fits your availability. Your sessions take place over our Live Learning Platform, which allows you to meet with your instructor from anywhere with an internet connection. This removes barriers that can make test preparation difficult for some students.
Varsity Tutors is glad to offer you this excellent CLEP Calculus test prep option. Regardless of the areas of the CLEP Calculus exam that concern you, you and your tutor can pursue your academic goals. If you would like to learn more about CLEP Calculus prep, Educational Directors are available online or over the phone. We hope that you consider allowing us to serve you as you prepare for this exam.

I have MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio. Currently, I am doing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University, Lubbock. In my teaching experience, I have learned how to address the student's doubts in a class and keep them engaged. I have also dealt with the students who were struggling in the class and I helped them to stay motivated by giving them the best concepts.... Teaching is the best platform for the learning process. It helps us to psychologically deal with students of every level. By addressing student's doubts in a simpler manner, I make their concepts clear. Sometimes it's difficult to memorize formulas and equations. In those cases, I give students mnemonics so that the things they learn will be permanently stored in their mind.
