Algebra in Real Life
Grades 6-8
At first glance, algebra looks abstract: where did the numbers go and why are they now letters?
But algebra is right at home in the real world–in fact, it’s one of the most common ways we investigate and understand the world around us. In these weekly sessions, students will see the concrete side of algebra, using it to measure and investigate their surroundings and hobbies. Each week covers a new theme, so drop in to find out this week’s variable or, as mathematicians are prone to do, make it a series.
