If you're looking for Denver USMLE prep, Varsity Tutors has the solution for you. The United States Medical Licensing Exam is taken by individuals whose aim is to become a licensed medical professional in the U.S. The test addresses topics that were covered during your studies at the University of Denver, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Regis University, or any number of the fine educational establishments in the area. If you've been away from the classroom for an extended period of time or are currently in school and just want to be exceptionally prepared, a Denver USMLE prep course is a strong option. Whether you're looking for an online course or a private tutor, Varsity Tutors is the way to go.
Why invest in a prep class?
The USMLE is an incredibly challenging battery of exams, and its completion is necessary to practice medicine. There are actually three different exams, referred to as Steps. Each Step assesses a student's knowledge and skills in a progressive fashion in order to determine whether they are adequately prepared to practice in the field.
Step 1 is typically taken at the end of a student's second year, covering scientific concepts involved in effectively practicing medicine from biological basics like the cardiovascular and skeletal systems to standard operational procedures. Step 2 comes in two parts: Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills. The Clinical Knowledge test, much like Step 1, involves a lengthy battery of multiple choice questions, but the Clinical Skills test evaluates students on communication and interpersonal skills, integrated clinical encounter, and spoken English proficiency through a series of patient evaluations.
In order to make an attempt at Step 3, you must have successfully passed Steps 1 and 2. Step 3 is another two-day affair, usually approached during the first or second year of postgraduate training. This is the final check to make sure a student has the requisite medical and scientific knowledge to practice in the field unsupervised. As experienced in the prior steps, day one consists of multiple-choice questions, while day two features additional questions followed by 13 computer-based case simulations, each allotted approximately 10 to 20 minutes of real time.
If this sounds a bit daunting, that's understandable. That's also why signing up for a preparatory course is so important. Not only do you get to brush up on your knowledge and skills, but instructors can provide guidance on the format of the assessments, leaving you well prepared for when it comes time to actually take the tests.
What kind of USMLE preparation options are available?
If this sounds overwhelming, don't worry. Varsity Tutors offers a variety of solutions that work for students of all sorts. If you're the type of student that benefits from group interaction, for instance, a Denver USMLE prep class might be the best fit. Here, you'll brush up on topics covered by the USMLE using video chat and the online whiteboard found on Varsity Tutors' Live Learning Platform. Students get the chance to connect with their peers and highly qualified instructors, sharpening their skills along the way. You'll enroll in a class section on a specific day of the week in a given time slot, allowing you to plan your studies out in a way that fits with your schedule. New sections start every month, and students can choose between 2- and 4-week sessions, so it's never too late to get the ball rolling.
Some students, however, find that one-to-one instruction works better with their learning style. These individuals can connect with an excellent Denver USMLE tutor. These sessions are scheduled at the student's convenience, and unlike a group setting, the material covered is specific to the needs of the student. So if you're solid when it comes to general principles of foundational science but struggling on topics related to behavioral health, your sessions can be adjusted to make sure you are adequately prepared. This also provides the benefit of real-time interaction. With a private instructor, you have the ability to ask questions and get answers in the moment, helping to establish greater clarity ahead of testing day.
How can I sign up for USMLE preparation?
