I have long enjoyed enjoyed working with others to help them achieve personal goals. Some of the most fulfilling tutoring I have done recently have been tutoring immigrants for the US Citizenship Test, helping formerly incarcerated individuals attain their GEDs, and tutoring children in Honduras on conversational English to obtain high-paying jobs in the tourism industry. I have always had a knack for seeing multiple solutions to a given problem (even receiving a little gag award for our fifth grade graduation, titled: "I have a better way to do that" award). In addition to the natural joy I get from tutoring, I also enjoy solving the puzzle of determining which solution method matches best with how each student learns and thinks.

I was educated in China and the United States. Having taken many mathematics courses in both countries, I learned many ways to solve math problems by using strategies learned in both cultures. Therefore my background, in both learning and teaching math, is very strong.
