I am currently a 4th year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine and previously graduated from Rice University, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science and Biochemistry & Cell Biology. I have served on admissions interview committees for Rice and Baylor College of Medicine, have mentored and edited essays for numerous college and graduate school applicants, and served as a private tutor and classroom instructor for Advanced Biology and Chemistry courses for 3+ years.

I'm currently a fourth year medical student at a private medical school in Texas. I've been involved with tutoring since middle school continuing all the way through medical school. There are so many different ways to teach based on how students learn best and I am passionate about meeting the individual needs of students so they can succeed. I took unconventional approaches to learning as instilled by mentors throughout my life that greatly increased my ability to learn and comprehend material . I've worked with tutoring students in ACT prep, SAT prep, MCAT prep, IB and AP courses, as well as STEM subjects from elementary school through to college. Recently, I've also tutored for USMLE Step 1 & 2. I also edit and work with students who need tutors for writing and reading comprehension. I have extensive experience in both college and medical school admissions and work yearly with students on essays and applications. I went to high school at the Downingtown STEM Academy and graduated May 2018 from the University of Alabama with a 4.2. I have a BS in Biology with minors in Social Work and Social Welfare. I will be graduating with an MD and MPH in May 2022. I tutor english, math, geometry, algebra, SAT, ACT, MCAT, USMLE chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, and writing along with other subjects. I've worked with rural students in Alabama, students in the Greater Philadelphia area, and students in urban areas. I believe education should be personalized and while schools can't provide this due to lack of resources, tutors are a great substitute for that. Education is the gateway to social mobility and happiness and I seek to prepare my student to meet their individual goals. I work to create an environment where the student can focus on understanding the material for their own understanding and not for others which significantly increases the students confidence in the subject matter and their desire to learn more.
I am currently a medical resident at Brockton Hospital and will be continuing my training in Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital next summer. I received my medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed my undergraduate training at Northwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
I am currently entering my fourth year of medical school at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wheaton College in Illinois, where I graduated in 2017 with high honors. Throughout my undergraduate years, I tutored extensively in several academic fields with a focus on the sciences and preparation for the MCAT.
I am currently in my fourth year of medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Learning science is my passion, but I also enjoy running, trying new food, and reading classic books. I would love to be part of your journey by helping you love mastering the task at hand. No doubt, you will see your best results once you have learned to enjoy the grind of becoming an expert of the material placed before you. Together, we can learn to enjoy the process as well as enjoy the results you will achieve. Whether you are working through upper-level science courses to complete a pre-med degree, taking the MCAT before applying to medical school, or studying for the USMLE Step 1 or 2 exams to get into the residency of your dreams, I can help you achieve your goal. With whatever content we are mastering together, we will work to be as organized and planned as possible. "Those who fail to plan, plan to fail!"

I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University, where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science Education. At Ohio State, I also was a Defensive Back on the football team, and have tutored many of my teammates. We accomplished much as a team, and became 2014-2015 College Football National Champions. Furthermore, I was named an OSU Scholar Athlete four times, and selected to the Academic All-Big Ten team two times. I will be beginning medical school in August of 2016. Before that begins, I am working as a personal trainer/performance coach, in addition to tutoring.
I am a pediatrician by training and pediatricians are, by nature, educators.
I am patient and passionate about tutoring, and I waste no time in helping my students to become confident and bold. I will do whatever it takes to make sure that my student is confident in the subject area. It is my duty to make sure that my students own their materials. As a tutor, I dedicate my time to molding my students intellectually and personally. My students improve drastically within the first few weeks of me tutoring them. You will not be sorry for hiring me: this is can promise.
I am very good at analyzing a student and finding out the areas where a student needs strengthening.
I am a 2020 graduate of Rice University and currently in my final year of Medical School. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I've found that one of the most rewarding parts of education is helping others reach their potential. I've worked with students across many stages, from high schoolers preparing for the SAT/ACT, to applicants refining personal statements for college and medical school, to medical students tackling board exams. In each of these settings, my goal remains the same: to help students not just learn material but learn how to learn. My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that success doesn't depend on being naturally gifted, it comes from consistency, structure, and a willingness to improve. I work with students to develop individualized study plans, set achievable milestones, and build momentum. I focus on helping students become confident learners who can approach problems with clarity and strategy. Especially in standardized test prep, I emphasize the importance of going into each question with a plan of attack. Whether it's reading comprehension, a science passage, or a medical vignette, I teach students how to prioritize information, filter out distractions, and apply what they know efficiently. Test-taking is a skill, and through consistent practice, students can go from feeling overwhelmed to feeling in control. I'm especially passionate about tutoring subjects that require strategic thinking, like exam prep, because it allows me to show students how much of academic success is not about memorizing facts, but about mastering the process. My ultimate goal is to help students become independent, confident thinkers who can take these skills beyond any one test or class.
I am currently a fourth year medical student at the University of IL College of Medicine (graduating in May 2021), and I previously received my Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Genetics and Genomics from Northwestern University. Two things I am passionate about are helping others and mentoring/teaching -- tutoring allows me to do both of these simultaneously! I have previously tutored students ages 5 to >22 in a variety of subjects ranging from different math and science classes, test prep (ACT, SAT, MCAT, USMLE Step 1 and 2), and college/grad school application preparation.
I am a 4th year medical student going into Internal Medicine. I joined varsity tutors, because I was excited for the opportunity to teach through their online platform. I've always enjoyed school and a big part of that has been the amazing teachers I have had along the way. I've always loved teaching as well, tutoring through different organizations during my undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University in Neuroscience and now at medical school at Thomas Jefferson University where I will get my M.D next year.
I am about to graduate this semester from the University of Illinois at Chicago majoring in Psychology on the pre-med track. I have also been accepted to and will be attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine next year. During my undergraduate experience, I was enrolled in the GPPA Medical Scholars Program and served as a mentor pre-med students. I tutored them in math and science courses as well as medical school level courses offered as a part of this program. I also served as an academic coach for high school and college students for 3 years through a peer tutoring program through my university and really enjoyed my experience working with a diverse group of students. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Psychology, English, Math, and Science. I have also prepped high school students for Standardized Tests, specifically on the ACT English portion. I enjoy working students all of all ages to help build concentration and make their studies feel less intimidating. My teaching method varies with what works best for the student I am tutoring. In our initial talks, we can figure out an efficient system and schedule that benefit you and make your learning experience optimal. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you feel more confident in your studies!
I am a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a minor in Neuroscience. I am a graduate of the Creighton University School of Medicine where I received my M.D. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Philosophy at Marquette University in 2018. During my time at Marquette, I tutored General Biology and General Chemistry, and I was a teaching assistant for Organic Chemistry lab. Not only did I enjoy teaching students my age, but I also pursued teaching opportunities for younger students in high school and middle school. I was a gross anatomy instructor for high school students taking tours through the cadaver labs and I was one of the founders of the Marquette Brain Brigade, where a group of undergraduate students came up with demos/lessons in neuroscience to teach middle school students. Moreover, I sought out private tutoring opportunities at a company called Huntington Learning Center both during undergrad and during medical school where I tutored a wide variety of subjects, including ACT/SAT, for virtually all age groups. I am very comfortable teaching various subjects and ages, and I am a laid back and flexible person. The subjects I am most comfortable teaching would be the sciences anywhere from the basic level to graduate school level. I am so grateful for the educators that allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor, and I would love to pass it on and help younger students achieve their goals.
I'm currently a 3rd year Biomedical Engineering student who goes to the Georgia Institute of Technology. I'm a pre-medical student with a goal of becoming a physician. To reach this stage, I have had to do a lot of studying. Material doesn't naturally click with me, and I have done a lot of studying to understand it. I understand that sometimes extra tutoring is needed to help excel in a subject, and it is completely okay to get that help. I'm here to help students whose position I was previously in.

I am currently a medical student at the University of Texas Southwestern. I completed a major in Biology with a triple minor focus in Chemistry, Sociology, and Medicine and Society. During my undergraduate career, I tutored hundreds of students through my work with the American Chemical Society, LAUNCH, and Scholars Enrichment Program. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I have recently taken my MCAT and I would love to help you prepare for that especially if you need help with Chemistry based questions. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests such as the ACT and the MCAT, I always find new ways to engage my students and make testing strategies more accessible to them. I believe the best way to learn is to teach. Therefore, my main teaching strategy will be filling any knowledge gaps and allowing you the opportunity to re-explain material in order to ensure you will remember it.

Embarking on the journey of education can be an exciting and equally anxiety provoking endeavor. There are many exams to take, projects to complete, and deadlines to meet. This is in no way an easy journey but it is a worthwhile one. A journey that will see you grow into your true potential. Whenever you gain a new piece of understanding of the world around you, your perception of the world forever changes, you see things you could not see before. This is a magical process; my life is dedicated to facilitating this process for others. I began my own journey of higher education with the Biological Sciences. During my third year of college I constantly found myself in a position where I was helping my peers understand the material and I realized that I thoroughly enjoyed doing this. I began working as a tutor at my college and then worked as a teaching assistant in the Gross Anatomy and Cell Biology Labs. From there I went to medical school in Brooklyn, NY. During medical school I continued developing my passion for teaching. Running tutoring sessions for my peers and underclassmen, organizing a medical education and exposure program for high school students known as HPREP, creating educational materials in the form of video demonstrations, and eventually being hired as an adjunct professor of Gross Anatomy for the Occupational Therapy program at Downstate Medical Center. I am currently in the medical education track at my school and in training to become a full-time faculty member after graduating. My teaching style is focused on meeting the student where they are. I always begin assessing the current knowledge base and level of understanding so I can have a good idea of where to start. From there we will work together and I will adapt my teaching style according to how the student best assimilates knowledge. I take pride in being adaptable and flexible. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I would be excited to obtain the opportunity to work with you.
I am a physician currently completing a postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University Medical Center (BUMC). I have been teaching medical subjects and the USMLE for 5 years. I am an IMG graduate. My teaching methods are straightforward. Tell me what subject or topic you have trouble understanding, and I will sit with you to help you better understand it. I will bring up a white board and we will go through the topic point by point and at the end I will test your understanding of the subject by going through a few questions from reputable question banks (Uworld). I'm also open to other teaching methods. Before our session will begin, I will usually call you and ask what material you want me to cover and what to spend our time on (in-depth review of material vs dissecting questions).
