Tutoring review by Derek in Turtle Creek, PA
During this session we worked through worksheets to further develop the student's understanding of how to work with radicals. We covered how to simplify radicals, as well as how to multiply and divide two radical numbers. He was having some trouble remembering which numbers can be moved outside of the radical, so we slightly altered the way he was doing his notation in order to help him remember. Lastly, we went over some uses of the Pythagorean theorem. We derived an equation that can be used to solve for the length of a side of a right triangle when the hypotenuse and other side are given.

Tutoring review by Rodolfo in Turtle Creek, PA
In today's session the student completed worksheets on quadrilaterals. These worksheets aimed to ensure that the definitions and properties of several quadrilaterals were understood. The first worksheet was a series of complete the statement exercises. The key for these problems was the checklist chart and the diagram that the student had in her notes. Overall this was not a difficult worksheet. The more challenging worksheet was one where the student was given a quadrilateral and some information about it, and she had to classify which specific quadrilateral was being described.

We reviewed working with positive and negative numbers from last session. He did well today. I left him with a few practice papers on percentage for the weekend to review with his dad.

We worked on problems in the student's study guide to study for her test tomorrow. We reviewed simple harmonic motion and how to determine what the different parts of the sinusoid would be if there's a phase shift. We also talked about how to find different equivalent values of theta so that they lie within a certain interval. She will continue working through her study guide to help her with the material.
