There, you can get expert guidance and a thorough review to help your understanding of the ACT. The course has different sections and students can take either weekday or weekend lessons for more flexibility.
Competition is tough when it comes to getting into the best universities. Each year, there are thousands of high school students who do their best to study for the ACT so that they can get higher test scores. If your ACT scores are not where they should be, it may be difficult to get into the schools you want. Private colleges and universities use your ACT test results as a reference for admission, so the better you perform on the test, the higher your chances may be in getting accepted into your preferred university.
High school students, including those from La Cueva High School and Saint Pius X High School, should prepare early for the ACT. This is one of the best things to do to improve your performance during exam day and reach for your target ACT score. An Albuquerque ACT class can help you get the assistance you need to elevate your studies for the test. An ACT course that Varsity Tutors can help you find will help familiarize you in various test-taking strategies and help you gain the academic skills needed for test day.
What could an Albuquerque ACT course help me review?
In your review course, you will study and practice answering the four test sections of the ACT, namely, English, Mathematics, Science, and Reading. You can also choose to review for another type of test called the ACT Plus Writing, which has an optional Writing test section. The total test duration of the regular ACT is 2 hours and 55 minutes, while the ACT Plus Writing runs for 3 hours and 35 minutes.
All the questions for the ACT are multiple-choice questions and each section has a set time limit. One good test tip to remember is that you should answer every question even if you are not sure of the answer. There is no penalty in guessing, so don't risk losing a point by leaving an item unanswered.
For the English section, you will need to use your language skills and answer questions on grammar, usage, sentence structure, and punctuation. There will also be passages where you need to analyze the style and tone of the language. You will have 45 minutes to answer 75 questions.
When it comes to the Mathematics section, you will be tested in math skills that most students know by their senior year of high school. Some of the subjects tested are pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry. You will not be given any formulas for this part, but you can use certain calculators when answering the test. You will have 60 minutes to answer 60 questions.
The Science section is where you will need to use your data analysis and interpretation skills. More than knowing scientific facts, you will be tested on evaluation and reasoning; problem-solving and the application of the scientific method and other tools for scientific investigation. Subjects included are biology, physics, chemistry, and Earth/space sciences. You will have 35 minutes to finish 40 questions.
Last but not least, for the Reading section, you will be tested on your reading comprehension skills. The questions are passages where you may need to determine the main idea, understand the sequence of events, or analyze cause-effect relationships. The passages cover humanities, social studies, natural sciences, and literary fiction.

...Mexico, receiving my Master of Science in mathematics. I tutored as an undergraduate student, taught as a graduate student, and am now proud to be teaching as a faculty member at the local colleges and university. I firmly believe in teaching and tutoring by example, having the students play an active role in examples strengthens understanding and solidifies content knowledge. Outside of teaching an tutoring, I enjoy board games, sports, and being outside.... When a student is struggling with material, first I attempt to identify if there is an underlying cause. Many students commonly struggle with new material if older concepts have not yet been mastered. By strengthening core concepts and review material, students will have a higher success rate when approaching new topics. Beyond review, I break problems down into manageable pieces which the student can solve and help the student reconstruct the problem at hand.

...of higher education. As for why I'm tutoring, it's a simple answer: I like teaching. I'm good at it. And it's ok to tell yourself you are good at something. In fact, that's a lot of what my teaching philosophy boils down to: Helping the student realize their potential, regardless of the difficulties they might be experiencing in a particular subject. I knew I wanted to be an English teacher since 7th grade. I had an amazing middle school English teacher, Mr. Ross, who inspired my love of reading and writing; I also had really cool and creative teachers in high school. I then tutored peers in college, so I knew I wanted to help people. Teaching and tutoring allows me to help people and do what I love.

Every student can learn. Teaching means you take the time to find how that student learns.... Every student can learn, but it takes a true teacher to understand how they learn.... I would like to get to know the student. I would like to know their interests and hobbies. I can find ways to relate the information to them on a level that interests them.... It's all about asking them questions and getting them into the habit of asking those questions themselves without anyone asking them.

...long learner. I figured since I am taking some time off that I would enjoy helping students achieve their own goals. This is because I understand how sometimes, classwork and concepts can be tough to grasp; however, with time and dedication any set back can be overcome. Learning should be an enjoyable experience, knowledge is the one thing no one can take away from you. I look forward to working with you!... First, I would introduce myself, maybe try a couple of ice breakers. Then I would have the student tell me about what assignment they are working on, and I would try my best to identify where the student is struggling. Then I would try different methods of explanation and see which one resonates the best for the student's needs.
