Certified Tutor

My name is Rachelle and I am a recent graduate from Arizona State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors in philosophy. I will be attending the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in the fall of 2012. I have always been successful in academics and enjoy school thoroughly. I have also served as a Military Police Officer for the Arizona Army National Guard for over four years.

I have always assisted my peers in school (mostly by the request of teachers and professors) from high school and well into college. I am a nanny as well, and help the children I nanny with their schoolwork. I have tutored Math, Science, Spanish, English, etc., from elementary school through college.

The reason I think I manage to be successful in helping others is that I recognize the different types of learning styles. Some individuals are verbal learners (like me), others are physical learners, and others have even different styles of learning (there are seven recognized types of learning). Teachers can attempt to teach to different learning styles, but sometimes trying to accommodate for all seven can be incredibly tedious, especially when there are a lot of students in a class. In these cases, your child could be struggling with a subject merely because it isn’t being taught to him/her in a way that is conducive with his/her learning style. This is where a tutor, particularly one capable of recognizing this need, comes in.

In my free time I like to watch movies and read. I also enjoy drawing and painting. When I’m feeling particularly adventurous, I like to go rockclimbing and skydiving (anything to get my adrenaline going!). I enjoy being outside, unless it’s terribly hot. And most of all, I love trying new things.
