Certified Tutor

I am currently a graduate student at Rice University, earning my MS in Bioscience Research and Health Policy. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a teaching certificate for all high school Science subjects. Last year I taught Biology and Chemistry in a 5A high school in Leander, TX. I graduated from the UTeach program at UT Austin which gave me four years of teaching experience and training. I am also the second oldest of seven kids so I am pretty much ready to hang out with a student of any age and get them interested in something. Science is fun to me, and I think that the students I tutor can't help but feel the excitement I impart when I'm explaining something. I love to use experiments and games to teach a subject as well as digging up good story from the history of old scientists. My students call it "story time with Ms. Moore." I also have a passion for music and have been in a choir and band ever since elementary school. I am a soprano in my church choir and just finished up four and a half years of marching band for UT as a trumpet player. This meant I got to go to all the football games which I was very happy about because I am also a huge sports fanatic. Hook 'em Horns!
