Anthony
Certified Tutor
I was a high school valedictorian and am an alumnus of Swarthmore College where I graduated with honors attaining a BA in Economics and a minor in Biology. I am also an alumnus of Brandeis University where I attained a Masters in Software Engineering. After graduation, I worked as a derivatives trader for over a decade. I was fortunate to teach over a dozen classes in statistics, probability and decision making.
Given my rigorous training in the sciences, my teaching philosophy revolves around optimization and iteration. I am a firm believer that different students learn in different ways. As a tutor, I believe it is my responsibility to develop a process specific to a student's strengths and weaknesses.
My academic successes stem from my work ethic and creativity. I bring the same work ethic and creativity when I tutor. My skill set allows me to develop computer programs optimized to a student's learning objectives. I possess excellent communication skills (high school national debater). Most importantly, I logged over a thousand hours teaching classes, tutoring students on all levels. As a bonus, my wife teaches writing at Harvard University and Princeton before that giving me an edge when reading essays and papers.
In my spare time, I am avid tennis player and skier. I enjoy playing board games and card games.
