Certified Tutor

My passion for teaching and creating outstanding educational opportunities for all students has guided my career. Not only have I worked as a teacher and an advocate, but I have modeled the importance of education by earning three Master's degrees: an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA in Education Leadership from Teachers College at Columbia University, and an MA in Teaching Adolescent Math from Pace University.
My formal teaching experience began in 1999, when I managed and taught reading, writing, and math skills at a tutoring center. From there, I went on to graduate school, which I followed with two years teaching middle and high school math in New York City Public Schools. During graduate school, having scored in the 98th percentile with a perfect writing score, I became certified to teach the GMAT by a private test preparation company, and taught that test to several small classes in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
I am in the process of launching a small business. So in my spare time, I want to continue connecting to students by tutoring various subjects from math to English to test prep. As for test prep, I believe that most standardized tests don't test your ability in their stated subjects as much as they do your ability to take those tests. Therefore, it is critically important to teach not just the basic skills, but the ability to succeed on the test as well. I have been very successful in significantly raising students' scores in the past, and I look forward to doing the same for you.
When I'm not teaching, my hobbies are skiing, boating, and spending time with my two young boys.
