I have a degree in applied computational math sciences with a focus in science and engineering from the University of Washington.
After graduating from the University of Washington, I enrolled in Teach For America. I taught high school chemistry and physics for two years in Arkansas.
Although I have several years of experience as a science teacher, I actually prefer to tutor math. I think math is the foundation for many sciences and a solid understanding of math can lead to a better understanding of subjects like physics and chemistry.
I think that education is based on building habits rather than falling into a pattern of getting behind then cramming. A lot of education is sequential and taking shortcuts doesn't always work.
As someone who just returned to Seattle, I enjoy exploring new aspects of the city. This brings me into a lot of coffee shops, parks and bike trails.
