Certified Tutor

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Washington pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and Neurobiology. Before coming to UW, I tutored elementary and middle school students throughout high school. I also taught piano and worked as a counselor at a summer camp for elementary aged students so I'd like to say I understand and get along pretty well with them! As for my tutoring style, it varies from student to student. I gauge what works and does not work when it comes to teaching techniques and tailor my approach to best help my student learn. Additionally, I've seen that asking questions and guiding my students to the answer helps them retain more information than simply telling them what the correct answer is at the start. Overall, my goal with each student is to have them understand the concepts of whichever subject they need help, so that they can better remember and apply them in the future.
