Knowledge is freedom! This belief guides my tutoring philosophy and style. Students and tutors work collaboratively, holding one another accountable for the roles and responsibilities. As a graduate
of Vanderbilt University's Peabody College, a Teach For America Corps Members, and a current University of Missouri-St. Louis grad student of education--education is highly important to me. I have been a tutor since 2010, starting for the Normandy School District. Since then, I've maintained relationships with my students. My concern is that they experience happiness and success throughout their educational career. My training and expertise is predominantly in math and reading. Additional training includes cultural competency, youth engagement, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Expertise training is essential, but additional training in regards to the whole individual (socially and economically)prepares the student for success and allows for a tailored curriculum. In closing, I am a dedicated spirit who loves all things exciting or creative. That includes theater, fashion design, poetry, rock climbing, and camping. I like to stay active so I can match my students' energy!
