Certified Tutor

I am completing my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and History at Texas Christian University. I have met the requirements for a history certification for the state of Texas in addition to my history degree, and I will also receive a broadcast certificate with my journalism degree upon graduation.

I have worked as a mentor/tutor for 6 years, mainly with elementary-aged children who struggle with both academic and social issues in school. I am extremely passionate about my areas of expertise, and I pride myself in the ability to make "dry" information engaging and interesting.

I have a broad general world history knowledge, but I have an emphasis in European history. With my journalism degree, I am required to gain a grammar/syntax certification from EGUMPP, a comprehensive online course that teaches every area of grammar and spelling. My writing skills, along with a passion for reading, has allowed me to successfully help tutor students in their own reading and writing skills.

Outside of academics, I enjoy yoga, the outdoors, and volunteering at an animal shelter. I am a very outgoing person who has an abundance of patience with others.
