Certified Tutor

I'm passionate about languages, culture, and communication. Currently, my professional life evolves around helping people communicate by managing translation projects, and translating whenever time allows. I've tutored on and off for many years now, and I enjoy it because it helps me rediscover and play with language concepts.

For the past nine years or so, I have tutored. My first tutoring experience was as a volunteer reading tutor at the Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science. It was a challenging experience because of the size of the classes assigned to each volunteer tutor. This helped me determine that I preferred to work in a quieter setting with a couple individuals rather than a group. Subsequently, I tutored other college students in French until my graduation in 2008. I returned to tutoring French for one year during graduate school.

I'm a good tutor because I genuinely enjoy the topics I work with. I'm currently a translator and interacting with individuals who are learning new languages or who are looking to improve their English skills gives me a different perspective on language matters I often take for granted.
