Certified Tutor

I am a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX working toward dual undergraduate degrees. In May of 2016 I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I traveled to Spain this past year to participate in a semester long study abroad program allowing me to be fully immersed in the Spanish language and culture. During my time abroad, I worked as a classroom assistant in the English classes taught by one of my professors to students ranging in age from 4 to 12 years old. In order to apply hands on what I learn in my psychology classes, I spend as much time as possible assisting one of my professors with their research. Much of my teaching experience lies in the area of music which has provided me with a strong understanding of what it takes to work one on one with individual students of all ages. I believe that education in any subject should incorporate the individual passions of each student in order to promote interest and to deepen understanding of the material at hand. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and running, and engaging in my passion for music by playing in a band around the Austin area.
