It is a core belief of mine that if you are passionate about the pursuit of knowledge it is critical to express that passion by sharing the knowledge that you have gained with others so that they too may benefit from it. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from The George Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and received my MBA from Rollins College, graduating first in my class. In my personal and professional life I’ve been involved in helping to educate others in areas ranging from traditional academic subjects, to standardized test prep, to software utilization. The GMAT is a particular area of passion for me as someone who did reasonably well on the exam years ago when getting ready to apply to an MBA program, but realized that in order to pursue his passion for research in the form of a PhD in Marketing would need to significantly improve his score. I was able to accomplish my goal of a significantly improved GMAT score when I took the test more recently and through the process of preparing for it this time, I gained a great amount of fundamental subject-area knowledge and useful test taking strategies that I’m excited about sharing with others so that they can reach their goals on the GMAT. My tutoring style emphasizes understanding the concepts used to solve different problems at a detailed level and gaining comfort in knowing how to analyze a problem at the onset so that the student can identify an appropriate strategy for tackling the problem. With standardized tests I like to initially focus my tutoring on the “low hanging fruit,” or those areas where the payoff to effort ratio is the greatest for a student. From there, depending on the student’s goals, we can work together to systematically tackle the other areas necessary for increased success.
