I love to ignite the passion for learning Spanish with my students. There's nothing better than seeing the light bulb go off! I've taught Spanish for 11 years in the middle school and high school environments, with four of those being in a completely online school setting. I received my B.A. in Education/Spanish from Kalamazoo College (Michigan) and my Masters in Education with ESL Endorsement from the University of Texas. I've traveled extensively to 31 countries, with more on my bucket list. I also lived in Venezuela for two years as a teenager, lived in Spain for six months of Foreign Study as a Junior in college, and lived three months in Guatemala on a Work Study program teaching English. I truly believe that the best way to learn a foreign language is to "See it, Hear it, Say it, Do it!"

What is your teaching philosophy?
In order to ignite that passion for learning a foreign language, you have to "See it, Hear it, Say it, Do it!"
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
For me, a typical first session involves getting to know the student, why they are learning Spanish, what are they struggling with, and how they best learn. I find out their expectations, and then move on to specific topics they are needing help with.
