Learning to speak another language is scary for students. I want to create a comfortable atmosphere that enables students to speak the language they wish to learn: naturally, with confidence, and no barriers to impede them from achieving that goal. I have two years of experience as a teacher with emphasis on ESL education. As a native Spanish speaker, I take Spanish learners of all levels and French students up to level 3.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Learning to speak another language is scary for students. I want to create a comfortable atmosphere that enables students to speak the language they wish to learn: naturally, with confidence, and no barriers to impede them from achieving that goal.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would ask what their goals are for learning the subject of interest. What would they use those skills for?
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Encourage them to use all the resources available to them to practice on their own. Try to solve their questions on their own first, and if really needed they can go to their tutor for help. Every 'fail' is simply a first attempt in learning.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would ask the student what they think is making them feel unmotivated. Perhaps it's a problem with confidence or tired of the subject. Create versatile lessons and try different teaching methods.
