I am currently a graduate student pursuing my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tulsa. I received my bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering in May 2014 from John Brown University. I greatly enjoy helping others to understand concepts that are difficult and not intuitive. I have a great deal of experience working in Mathematics and the sciences. My experiences tutoring involve tutoring middle school math while I was in High School, tutoring Introduction to Electric Circuits during my undergraduate studies and also my current position which is a Teaching Assistant for System Dynamics and control at TU. My desire is to someday pursue a faculty position in Engineering and continue to educate students in the field of engineering, but through that help students learn valuable life skills and things that are discovered about oneself through the rigor of academic learning.
When I am not studying or working, I enjoy many outdoor activities: running, climbing, hiking, and camping. I also greatly enjoy reading with one of my favorite genres being biographies. I find learning about the lives of exemplary and extraordinary people.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I think of my teaching style as inquiry based, where the focus is placed on the student and the learning is very hands-on. I also tend to have the students practice problems that follow the example that I provide for them.
