I am currently an undergraduate student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a double major in integrative biology and behavioral neuroscience, and I am hoping to become a neurologist.
I have four years of tutoring experience in varying subjects such as literature, math, science, and ACT prep. I have tutored kids of all ages and am familiar with different tutoring methods for each age group. More than that, what qualifies me for this job is that I am passionate about education. I have had a very successful school career, and I want to share that with all students. Education is empowering, and every student deserves to feel intelligent.
Outside of tutoring and college, I love to read. I'm a big fan of fantasy novels and Harry Potter, but I also like classics such as Dickens' books. I play French Horn and flute, and this summer I am teaching myself to play violin. I also dabble in photography, specifically landscapes. I don't play any sport competitively anymore but I do play recreational tennis and badminton.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that every student can learn anything. Tutoring, and learning for that matter, takes patience and hard work. That's what I offer my students.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introductions first. I want the students to feel comfortable before we dive into the material.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Read. Reading is the key to learn.
