Certified Tutor
I just recently graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, with a Bachelor of Engineering in the field of Aerospace Engineering. In the fall, I begin graduate courses for a Masters degree in the same subject, all the while working as a Teaching Assistant in our Engineering Fundamentals program. My tutoring experience is, although limited, in advanced subjects that appear in the third or fourth year of undergraduate level classes. This said, I believe I possess the mindset and the passion to educate students, as I have already been qualified to do this at the professional level.
My favorite subjects involve a combination of math and real world sciences, most notably anything that falls under the category of physics. I am also very well versed in computational syntaxing, I have written thousands of lines of code and amiably make competition out of the process with my classmates.
When I teach, I go at the students pace, never moving on if a topic isn't properly understood. I approach the issue from as many angles as practically possible, so that success is maximized. Even if a student understands a topic well, I may entertain a different perspective, to keep any potential doubt from lingering. And as always, a positive atmosphere is highly conducive to the learning environment.
When I can I like to build and fix things, paint/draw, play guitar, write poetry, read novels/graphics, learn new words, watch superhero TV shows, run, and probably other things because there are so many I can't keep track of them all!
I love learning and I love sharing what I have learned. I have a deep respect for education, it has the potential to empower people and transform lineages. I identify with my students because I am still a student--one of my peers, my environment, and of myself. Tutoring those in need would be the least I could do, because keeping knowledge to oneself is a terrible fault. Also, seeing the aha moment in a student's eyes fills me with an unparalleled vigor (selfishness for the greater good).
