Though I have always been relatively good at mathematics, it was not until my senior year of high school that I truly found my passion in the sciences under the tutelage of Rodney Bond. It was at this point that I began seeking knowledge instead of accepting my education. I pursued knowledge outside of class through online lectures and came to Mr. Bond with new questions about the nature of our reality everyday. This drive has only grown stronger as I have matured and I am proud of the fact that I can say I am one of the few college students who actually looks forward to attending class.
While physics is my favorite subject to study, I would say that the most natural subject for me is Calculus. It all seems to make perfect sense to me and this is convenient because most of modern physics, which I have been delving into recently, finds its logical basis in Calculus. If I make a decent living as an engineer in the astronautical field one day, then my dream is to divert my studies to be purely scientific so that I may focus fully on how our universe works and not the exploration of it. However, until then I am afraid theoretical Physics will most likely be a hobby of mine to occupy my free time and nothing else.
Things that I enjoy include classical music, art, poetry and literature or any other form of creative expression. I find these all so emotionally and intellectually stimulating. I find modern society's apathy for the arts to be quite disappointing. What people don't realize is that these cultural stigmas are withholding people who may find some deeper meaning in these fields from ever reaching true self-fulfillment.
